A glass negative of 933 G Street Northwest, a downtown block in the nation's capital, shows the street as the National Photo Company recorded it around 1921 or 1922. The company worked in Washington from the early 1900s into the 1930s, photographing the city's streets, buildings and daily life, and its negatives were later given to the Library of Congress. The glass shows streaks and blemishes from deterioration of its original coating, which add to its age as a document. The street title comes from unverified data on the negative sleeve, so the exact address is worth checking against other sources.
