Lord Maclay of Glasgow, a Scottish shipping figure, is recorded here outside the White House in Washington on April 7, 1925. The National Photo Company, a commercial studio that photographed visitors and officials in the capital in the 1910s and 1920s, made the glass negative. The title comes from data the studio wrote on the negative, which has not been independently verified. The surface streaks and blemishes visible on the glass are typical of deterioration in the original coating.
