Bill McTigue, a player for Boston's National League club, is the subject of this glass negative, one of the portraits that the Bain News Service made for newspapers in the 1910s. By 1913 the Boston National League team was commonly called the Braves, and its players were a steady subject for wire photographers working in the era before news pictures were routinely printed in daily papers.
