Bill Carrigan of the Boston Red Sox in the American League and Pat Moran of the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League appear together in this 1915 photograph. That year their two clubs met in the World Series, which Boston won four games to one. Carrigan, a former catcher, had taken over the Red Sox and guided them to the title, while Moran had led the Phillies to the National League pennant. The picture captures the two rival managers at the height of that series, when the American and National Leagues were still separate circuits.
