From a vantage on Kilburn Crags above Littleton, New Hampshire, this panoramic view sweeps across the valley toward the White Mountains and the Franconia Range. It is one of the wide-format landscapes issued by the Detroit Photographic Company, which listed the view in its 1901 catalog of scenic subjects for travelers. Mounted on linen and measuring about 41 by 98 centimeters, the print was meant to be studied at length, and its long format lets the eye follow the ridgelines from one range to the next.
