Old Faithful Inn, built in 1903-1904 at the Upper Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park, was designed to showcase its rustic architecture, and its dining room and guest rooms were among the most striking interiors of the time. The inn's great log-and-timber construction, with soaring open spaces and massive stone fireplaces, reflected a style meant to make visitors feel connected to the wilderness around them. Views like this one of the dining room and bedrooms capture the handcrafted character that drew early tourists to the park's lodges. The inn still stands today, and its lobby and rooms remain a lasting example of early twentieth-century park architecture.
