Old Faithful Inn, built in 1903-1904 near the Old Faithful geyser in Yellowstone National Park, stands out for its towering lobby of pine logs and a great fireplace that rises several stories. Architect Robert Reamer designed the rustic hotel for the Yellowstone Park Association, and its vertical, frontier-style timbering was meant to blend with the surrounding forest and volcanic landscape. Visitors who came to see the park's famous geyser often stayed here, and the inn remains one of the best-known examples of early national park lodge architecture.
