A motor truck marked for Graham Bros. and Gen. Serp corn stands at the Treasury in Washington, with the capital's neoclassical government buildings nearby. Graham Brothers, an automaker based in Evansville, Indiana, built trucks in the years this view likely dates from, and by the 1910s and early 1920s motor delivery vehicles were becoming a common sight on city streets. The National Photo Company, a commercial firm that documented Washington from about 1906 to the early 1930s, recorded scenes like this one. Streaks and blemishes on the glass reflect the natural aging of the original coating.
