The record identifies this subject only as the yacht *Enright*, a vessel whose name is taken from the negative's jacket. The image survives as an 8 by 10 inch glass dry plate, a format that captured fine detail and was favored by commercial photographers working for the Detroit Publishing Company in the early 1900s. That firm produced large numbers of views of American towns, waterways, and resorts, and it sold them as postcards and prints. A plate like this one was a working master, so its sharpness and tonal range reflect the firm's emphasis on views meant for reproduction. The negative reached the Library of Congress by way of a 1949 gift from the State Historical Society of Colorado.
