The Federal theater Project poster for *Follow the Parade* announces a musical revue staged at the Mayan theater on Hill Street at 11th in Los Angeles. The Federal theater Project was a branch of the Works Progress Administration, created in 1935 to put unemployed actors, writers, and stagehands back to work during the Depression. Its productions were staged in theaters across the country, and the posters were often silkscreened by WPA artists, which gave them bold flat color and simple lettering. This example shows how the program promoted live entertainment to working audiences in 1936 Los Angeles.
