Tomb 24 at Giza, and its second sepulchral chamber, is the focus here: the burial place of Merab, also spelled Merhat. Its painted walls and hieroglyphs were reproduced in this color lithograph, which was published around 1887 by Cosack & Company of Buffalo, New York. It appears as plate 14 in volume 2 of Samuel August Binion's *Ancient Egypt or Mizraim*. The chamber's decorations are now associated with the Royal Museum in Berlin, and print reproductions like this one gave American readers of the period a rare, colored look at Egyptian tomb art.
