Unlike most recruiting posters of the time, this one is pure text: a notice telling men between 18 and 41, single and married alike, that enlistment in groups would reopen on Monday, January 10, 1916. Under the Derby group scheme, men signed up first and were called up in batches after a set notice period, which is why the poster stresses that the month's notice ran from the date of attestation. Issued by the Parliamentary Recruiting Committee and printed by Roberts & Leete, it was soon overtaken by conscription under the Military Service Act of 1916.
