Catalogued as a foundry, possibly the Detroit Shipbuilding Company's works in Wyandotte, Michigan, this view puts the viewer among the heavy iron and steel work that lined the Detroit River south of the city. It is an 8 by 10 inch glass dry plate negative from the Detroit Publishing Company, whose photographers recorded industry and city life across the country in the early 1900s. The plate came to the Library of Congress as a 1949 gift from the State Historical Society of Colorado.
