Written in French for foreign travelers, this chromolithograph promotes the Polish State Railways under the title *Chemins de fer de l'Etat Polonais*, a sign of how eagerly the newly independent republic courted visitors after 1918. Its subjects are churches and the tourist trade, linking sacred architecture with the train journeys that would carry visitors to see it. Printed in Warsaw by the Koziański graphic workshop around 1924, it reflects the interwar boom in color travel posters, when railway companies hired artists to make rail travel look like an invitation.
