Printed in Warsaw around 1927, this color lithograph poster carries the title "Polska: Kraj polowań," or "Poland: Land of the Hunt," and is credited to S. Norblin. It was issued with the backing of the Ministry of Communications' publishing office, and its stated aim was to promote Poland to outside visitors. The subject list singles out lynx hunting, a detail that sets it apart from general sporting posters of the period. In the 1920s the newly reconstituted Polish state was actively marketing its forests and natural landscapes, and hunting was a traditional draw for foreign sportsmen.
