This portrait shows Evangeline Cory Booth, the daughter of Salvation Army founder William Booth, standing in the organization's uniform with two children at her side. The photograph was made by the Falk studio in New York around 1907, and the caption card links it to the Salvation Army and to child poverty, themes that ran through the group's urban relief work. Booth directed the Army's operations in the United States for many years and later became its international leader. The record notes that its date and caption details are unverified, so the picture is best read as a period image of the Army's public outreach.
