Still stands full length, facing the camera and leaning on a cane, in this studio portrait made by the Yale Studio of Kirksville, Missouri, around 1913. Still developed osteopathy, a system of medicine built on manual manipulation of the body, and he taught it at the American School of Osteopathy in Kirksville, which he founded in 1892. The town was his base for most of his career, and the photographer's imprint ties the image to that community. The date and studio attribution come from an older caption card and have not been independently verified.
