Few details survive about the people posed before The Farm house, but the title and the group arrangement point to a family or hired hands gathered at a rural homestead. The image is a dry plate glass negative, a format widely used around 1900 before flexible film became standard, and it carries a catalog number from the Detroit Publishing Company, a firm known for its large output of American views. The State Historical Society of Colorado donated this negative in 1949.
