The title, which opens "Novaya, vysshaya forma organizatsii" and translates roughly as "a new, higher form of organization," reflects the Soviet argument that collective farms were a superior way to work the land. This 1951 montage pairs combine harvesters with agricultural laborers, the two halves of the mechanized collective farm the state promoted in those years. Composite images like this were common in Soviet print media of the 1950s, where they made mechanization and collective labor look orderly and triumphant. The title is cut short in the record, so the full slogan remains uncertain.
