Rows of beach cabanas stood along the ocean at the Boca Raton Club, the resort on Florida's southeast coast that grew out of Addison Mizner's Mediterranean Revival vision of the 1920s. Bathhouse colonies like this one were a common feature of seaside luxury in the mid-twentieth century, giving guests private dressing rooms and shaded spots steps from the surf. The picture shows how the resort arranged its beachfront for leisure during the years when wealthy winter visitors came south to the Atlantic coast.
