A wooden pier and landing at Huletts Landing, a small community on Lake George in Warren County, New York, is the subject here. In the early 1900s, steamboats and summer visitors were central to the lake's economy, and landings like this one served as points where passengers, freight and mail moved between water and land. The Detroit Publishing Company, which made this 8 x 10 inch glass negative, sent photographers to record scenic places and resorts, and its views were widely sold as prints and postcards. The date of about 1907 is an estimate.
