What sets this poster apart is its billing of the Del-Zartos, a troupe of "oriental whirlwind dancers," alongside Bob Manchester and his company, The Cracker Jacks. In the late 1890s, touring variety and burlesque shows relied on posters like this one to catch the eye of passersby, and the crowded type and bold display promised spectacle in a single glance. The sheet was printed by a Cincinnati and New York firm, and this copy is in black and white, which was common for theatrical lithographs of the period.
