Evans and Hoey's 1898 poster advertises *A Parlor Match* under the slogan "Enough said!", and the notes call it Hoyt's best play. Charles Hale Hoyt wrote a string of popular farces in the 1880s and 1890s, and this one was performed by the comedy team of Charles E. Evans and William Hoey. Hoey died in 1897, so the poster advertised a pairing that continued under the team's name after his death. The lithograph's caption lists the characters I. McCorker, Innocent Kid, and Old Hoss, and its New York printer, The A.S. Seer Print, shows how theatrical posters of the period were produced in volume.
