The title places this view at the Wish Tower on the seafront at Eastbourne, on the south coast of England, where a parade moves past the old coastal tower. The record does not say what kind of procession it was or who took part. The print is a photochrom, a color process that Swiss firms developed in the 1880s and that the Detroit Publishing Company used for its popular travel views. Its catalog number, 10310, places it in the company's "Views of England" series, which was sold to tourists and collectors around the turn of the twentieth century.
