A revival meeting at Eastham, on Cape Cod, in 1852 shows a preacher exhorting a crowd gathered under canvas tents. The scene was drawn as a wood engraving for *Gleason's Pictorial*, a Boston illustrated weekly that printed news scenes and features in the early 1850s. This print is a later halftone reproduction of that engraving. Camp meetings like this one drew families and traveling preachers together for days at a time, and they carried forward the emotional, open-air style of worship associated with the Second Great Awakening. The details here come from an old caption card and have not been independently verified.
