Four small frames make up this stereograph's story of a boy and a girl setting off together in a buggy, a narrative sequence rather than a single scene. Keystone View Company, a large American maker of stereo cards, produced such picture stories around 1914 for home viewers. Each card held a pair of nearly identical images that a hand viewer fused into one three-dimensional scene. Sequences like this one offered light, sentimental entertainment in a parlor, and they show how the format was used to tell simple stories as well as to show travel and landmarks.
