Horseshoe Falls, the curved cataract on the Canadian side of the Niagara River, is the subject here, and the "II" in the title suggests this is one of several views the Detroit Publishing Company made of it. The company was known for hand-tinted and color-processed photographs of American and Canadian scenery that were sold widely as souvenirs and travel keepsakes around 1900. Its images helped set the popular picture of Niagara as a place to visit, and this print shows the falls much as tourists of the period would have seen them from the riverbank.
