Architectural detail drawings of the Commandery Room give a close look at the interior of Faneuil Hall, the Boston building that has served as a public meeting place since the eighteenth century. Peter Faneuil gave the hall to the town in 1742, and Charles Bulfinch enlarged it in 1806, so its rooms show work from more than one period. Measured drawings like these record moldings, trim, and fittings in fine detail, which made them useful to preservation architects planning repairs and to historians tracing how the building changed over time.
