Shaped like a bean pot, this souvenir album cover pairs a playful food theme with a serious landmark, an illustration of Faneuil Hall. Peter Faneuil gave the market hall and meeting place to Boston in 1742, and colonial-era protest meetings there earned it the name "Cradle of Liberty." The color lithograph was issued by L. Prang & Co., a Boston firm known for chromolithography, and it reflects the 1890s custom of selling a city's sights as keepsakes for visitors.
