Set in September, this color silkscreen pairs farming with barns, the two subjects the record lists for it. It dates to 1938, when the Works Progress Administration's Federal Art Project was employing artists across the country during the Depression. Silkscreen suited the program because it allowed inexpensive editions in bold, flat color, and the calendar format brought rural work and landscape to a wide public. Christopher DeNoon's 1987 catalog of WPA posters records it as number 316.
