Turkeys and hunting dogs set the scene in *November*, a color silkscreen dated 1938 that stands out from the other months of its series by its focus on the autumn hunt. The image comes from the Works Progress Administration's Federal Art Project, whose silkscreen workshops produced bold, flat-colored designs for posters and calendars during the Depression, when inexpensive prints brought art into ordinary homes. Christopher DeNoon's 1987 book *Posters of the WPA* catalogs the piece as number 316 and is a useful guide to the program's graphic work.
