This view looks back toward the falls from the International Bridge, which crosses the gorge a short distance below the cataract and links the American and Canadian sides. The record describes it as a large glass negative, 18 by 22 inches, made as an enlargement of an earlier and smaller negative. The negative log attributes the original exposure to a photographer named Glover in September 1904, and the image was copyrighted in 1905 by the Detroit Photographic Company. Large negatives like this were prized for the fine detail they could hold in the falls and the surrounding gorge.
