Stretched across roughly ten by seventy inches, this panoramic view shows the Ohio Works of the Carnegie Steel Company in Youngstown as one continuous scene. The Haines Photo Co. registered the print for copyright in September 1910, and the record lists the copyright claimant's address as Conneaut, Ohio. The Youngstown plant was one of Carnegie Steel's major mills, and the rail lines running through the view show how heavily such works depended on railroads to move ore, coal and finished steel. Panoramas like this were popular with industrial firms that wanted to display their size and reach.
