A treble clef rests on the head of the woman in this 1875 bust portrait, a musical touch that sets it apart from more conventional theatrical images. She wears a yellow dress and a red necklace, all rendered in color woodcut and printed by Russell Morgan & Co. of Cincinnati, a city with a busy commercial printing trade at the time. The sheet is signed by J.W. Hart, though the title was assigned later by cataloguers rather than printed on the poster. At about 2.45 meters tall, it was built to be read from a distance on a street wall or theater front.
