Moore's Auto Supply Shop stood at the corner of 20th and K Streets Northwest, a location the record places in Washington, D.C. Around 1920, when this glass negative was made, the city's streets were filling with automobiles, and shops like this one sold the tires, parts, and accessories drivers needed to keep their cars running. The National Photo Company, which recorded the capital's streets and businesses in the early twentieth century, made the picture, and the glass plate may show streaks and blemishes from the natural aging of its original coating.
