The only title on record is "Roosevelt and family," a label the Bain News Service wrote on the negative or its caption card, and it has not been independently verified. The picture belongs to the George Grantham Bain Collection of glass negatives from a New York news photo agency that supplied pictures to newspapers in the early twentieth century. Given the gallery's Theodore Roosevelt grouping, the sitters are likely the president and his family, though the record itself does not name them. Glass plates were the standard medium for news photographers of the period.
