Millville, Pennsylvania, is the setting for this view of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad's Pittsburgh Division, with its tracks running out across the landscape. The negative is a large glass plate, about 18 by 22 inches, and its numbers (53 and 1735) match the Detroit Publishing Company catalog, which issued photographs made by William Henry Jackson for the railroad. The envelope carries a different title, "Bessemer Steelworks," so the paper trail is worth checking. The date is only a best guess, given in brackets as circa 1892.
