The record calls this a blimp, labeled "Zeppelin No. 3," and shows the airship inside a ground shed, the hangar where airships were stored, inflated, and repaired between flights. The title comes from caption information the Bain News Service wrote on its negatives, which the Library of Congress notes is unverified, and no date is recorded. The Bain agency, active in New York from about 1900 to 1932, photographed news events, so the picture reflects the press interest in early airships. Because "blimp" usually names a nonrigid airship and "Zeppelin" a German rigid design, the two labels may not describe the same craft.
