The caption names the airship Zeppelin No. 3, but the Bain News Service recorded that title without verification, so the exact craft is uncertain. The name points to the rigid airlines built by Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin in Germany from about 1900, while "blimp" describes a nonrigid design with no internal framework, a mismatch worth noting. Bain's agency photographed news subjects in the early twentieth century, and pictures of airships on the ground often show the ground crews and hangars such craft required. The record gives no date, so the moment this was taken remains unknown.
