Three sheets join to show a group of women gazing out at falling snow, a winter scene from the series *Fūryū Genji*, or *Genji in the Modern Style*. The series recast episodes from *The Tale of Genji*, the early eleventh-century court novel, with its characters dressed in the fashions of mid-nineteenth-century Edo. The record credits the work jointly to Utagawa Kunisada and Utagawa Hiroshige: the side panels bear the Toyokuni signature Kunisada used, and the center panel is signed by Hiroshige. Its 1853 date places it among the late prints of the Edo period.
