Howard Thurston is named here as the successor to Harry Kellar, the American magician whose stage career was ending around the time this poster was printed. The subject headings list cages and demons, motifs that point to the dark, theatrical illusions popular on the stage in those years. The color lithograph came from the Strobridge Litho. Co. of Cincinnati and New York, a major commercial printer of theatrical posters, and it was copyrighted in 1908.
