Lucille Ball's name leads this 1960 New York poster for *Wildcat*, the Broadway musical that marked her first starring role on the stage after years as America's best-known television comedienne. The show, with music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, followed Florence Marcy, a brash boomtown owner in a Venezuelan oil camp, and gave Ball a chance to sing and dance in a role far from her television persona. Posters like this one were printed in quantity to publicize a production, so the lithographed artwork reflects the commercial style of Broadway advertising at the time.
