Few posters in the collection tie a play so directly to time: the Federal theater Project's advertisement for Anthony Armstrong's *Ten Minute Alibi* uses a clock motif, and the subject headings link it to Iowa productions of the 1930s. Armstrong, a British writer known for light mystery plays, built this one around a timed alibi, so the clock fits the story. The Federal theater Project, part of the Works Progress Administration, put employment for theater workers at the center of its work, and its posters were often printed in silkscreen, as this one is. The verso bears a July 1937 date stamp, suggesting it was kept or circulated after the production it advertised.
