Theodore Roosevelt stands on a ship's bridge in this view, with his daughter Ethel and a Mrs. Longworth, possibly his eldest daughter Alice, beside him. The record's names are unverified. The glass negative comes from the George Grantham Bain Collection, the photographic file of the Bain News Service, which supplied newspapers with news pictures in the early twentieth century. Roosevelt, president from 1901 to 1909, was a constant subject for press photographers, and this undated scene shows how his family often accompanied him in public.
