A fundraising appeal for the scholarship fund at New Trier, a high school in Winnetka, Illinois, this poster asks residents to send in their magazine subscriptions. Designed in 1936 under the Federal Art Project of the Works Progress Administration, it was printed in silkscreen, a fast, inexpensive method the project's poster units used to produce bold, flat color for local organizations. A date stamp on the back, March 25, 1941, shows the sheet was still being handled and filed years after it was printed.
