A 1937 three-act comedy called *Help Yourself* was staged in Inglewood, California, and this poster directed ticket buyers to two local drugstores. The Inglewood Junior Chamber of Commerce sponsored the show, and the Federal theater Project, the New Deal program that put unemployed actors, writers and designers back to work, is listed as a sponsor too. The subject headings tie the comedy to banking, a sore point for many Americans after the bank failures of the early 1930s. The poster comes from the Works Progress Administration's poster unit, which produced bright, inexpensive silkscreen posters to advertise community events.
