Eleanor Robson, the English-born actress, is the name printed across this 1905 color lithograph poster, which the Strobridge Litho. Company of Cincinnati and New York produced as a theatrical advertisement. The Liebler & Company theatrical management, one of the major producing firms of the era, is credited with the show, and the photograph behind the design was taken by F. S. Clark of Detroit. Posters of this kind were printed in large runs and pasted on billboards and theater fronts, so surviving copies show how stars were marketed to audiences at the turn of the twentieth century.
