Montana's mountains are the focus of this silkscreen poster by M. Weitzman, part of the "See America" series. The Federal Art Project in New York produced it between 1936 and 1939, when the Works Progress Administration employed artists during the Depression. The series encouraged Americans to explore their own country at a time when many had little money for long trips. A date stamp on the back, June 28, 1939, shows the print was in circulation that summer.
