Commercial attaché P.A. Bonet of the Cuban Legation posed with his wife and their children, Evora and Porfirio, in this glass negative, which was made at the legation itself and is dated to January 1920. The National Photo Company, a Washington studio that documented officials, diplomats and everyday life in the capital in the early twentieth century, produced the image, so it offers a glimpse of diplomatic family life in Washington during that era. Viewers may notice streaks and blemishes on the negative, which the record attributes to natural deterioration of the original coating.
