Evora Bonet, daughter of P.A. Bonet, an attaché at the Cuban Legation, is the subject of this glass negative, dated November 28, 1919, in Washington, D.C. The National Photo Company, a commercial studio that photographed the capital's residents and visitors in the years after World War I, recorded many such diplomatic households. Cuba maintained a legation in Washington at the time, so the picture offers a glimpse of foreign diplomatic family life in the city. The title comes from information the company wrote on the negative or its sleeve and has not been independently verified.
